Graduates and eligible final-year students considering management programmes that accept AIMA MAT. Confirm acceptance with each institution before paying for an examination or application.
AIMA’s current MAT information lists Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, and Economic and Business Environment. MAT is not automatically accepted for an overseas MBA.

Save the exact course requirement: accepted test, version, overall and section scores, result age, reporting method and deadline. Confirm any ambiguity with admissions.

Find your starting point
Complete a current-format diagnostic, identify your weakest required skill and make an error log. Choose a realistic weekly schedule around school, work and application tasks.

Build skills deliberately
Alternate targeted learning with timed tasks. Seek specific feedback on work that cannot be reliably self-marked, and revisit recurring errors rather than only taking more mocks.

Rehearse, review, report
Practise under the actual test conditions, confirm identity and equipment rules and allow time for results and score delivery. Extend the plan if your evidence shows you are not ready.

Keep a written checklist for each university. An accepted test name alone may not cover the version, delivery method or section requirements.

Ask a counsellorIs MAT accepted by every business school?
No. AIMA itself advises applicants to recheck acceptance with institutions. Confirm the programme, score policy and intake before relying on MAT for an application.
Are MAT and GMAT the same test?
No. They have different organisers, formats and admissions uses. Select the assessment accepted by your chosen programme, not simply the one with a similar name.
Do I need a separate college application after MAT?
Check each institution’s process. Registering for the examination or reporting a score does not necessarily complete a programme application or secure an interview.
Can I prepare in eight weeks?
The timeline here is an adaptable planning example, not a promise. Your starting level, target requirement, available study time and feedback determine how long you need. Begin early enough to improve skills rather than booking solely because a calendar says eight weeks.
How much does the exam cost and when can I book?
Fees, local availability, rescheduling charges and accommodation arrangements can change. Check the linked test provider before payment, include preparation and score-reporting costs in your budget, and allow time for a further attempt if permitted and needed.
