Find your course fit
Dalhousie's Bachelor of Computer Science provides a Halifax-based undergraduate route with an optional co-op structure. Admission combines school-level academic preparation with the university's language requirements. Its international tuition guarantee is faculty- and entry-cohort-specific, so the Computer Science budget should be checked separately from a general Science degree.

Helpful answers
Practical answers to help you plan your course, destination and next intake.
Ask a counsellorSelected programme options include Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS). These are selected examples, not the full catalogue. Availability, campus, mode of study and teaching language must be checked for your intake.
The BCS page requires completion of secondary school, academic English, academic Mathematics and three additional acceptable university-preparatory subjects. It lists a 70% minimum overall average, with subject minima, and recommends pre-calculus. International credentials and course equivalencies must be assessed through Dalhousie's international admission route; these minima do not guarantee selection. Dalhousie's undergraduate IELTS requirement is 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0. Recognised previous education in English may meet the requirement under specified conditions. Obtain confirmation of an exemption or any conditional-language route from international admissions.
Dalhousie's international tuition guarantee lists CAD 41,688 yearly tuition for the Faculty of Computer Science for the 2026–27 cohort. Half is charged in fall and half in winter. Compulsory incidental, society, course-specific, insurance and co-op charges are outside the tuition figure. Obtain the 2027–28 cohort's written tuition guarantee before budgeting for new entry. Fees are not a university-wide average. Confirm the exact course, fee year, currency, deposit, extra charges and refund conditions before paying.
For September 2027 programmes such as BCS that are outside the separately listed restricted-deadline programmes, Dalhousie says applications may be considered before classes begin where spaces remain. Apply early: the General Entrance Award application closes on 15 February 2027, and the current dates page sets 1 May 2027 for English proof and the admission deposit unless the offer states otherwise. Availability close to September is not guaranteed. Applications for September 2027 undergraduate entry opened on 1 October 2026. Confirm any alternate start directly for BCS; programme intake availability is separate from the university's academic terms. A semester start date is not an application closing date. Check scholarship and visa timelines separately.
