Admission planning

Academic eligibility

  • An accepted upper-secondary qualification.
  • Required subject equivalents are Mathematics A, Physics B or Geoscience A, and English B, each passed at the specified Danish standard.
  • International applicants document instructional hours from their final three school years on a school-signed verification form and provide transcripts/translations.
  • Selection considers academic results and additional documented qualifications.

Admission planning

Language requirements

  • IELTS Academic 6.5 overall is an accepted test option; approved TOEFL and Cambridge alternatives exist.
  • IELTS/TOEFL must be no more than two years old at study start.
  • A test does not replace English as a specific school-subject requirement.
  • School-based English evidence normally requires 210 clock hours over the final three years at the required grade level.

Admission planning

Study intakes

  • September entry at Horsens.
  • The distinct Cybersecurity specialisation advertises its first start in February 2028 with an earlier 2027 application round; it is not an existing September 2027 cybersecurity intake.

Admission planning

Application deadlines

  • Applicants with foreign qualifications apply between 1 February and 15 March at 12 noon.
  • The published final deadline for English-proficiency evidence through the national bachelor portal is 5 July at 12 noon; the later document date does not extend the programme application deadline.

Admission planning

International tuition

  • The 2026/27 schedule lists DKK 61,500 for each normal Software Technology Engineering semester and DKK 12,500 for semester five, totalling DKK 381,500 over seven semesters.
  • Payment is in DKK; euro figures are estimates.
  • The first payment covers two semesters and the engineering payment deadline is 15 May.
  • This is not a 2027/28 quotation; living and other study expenses are extra.

Admission planning

Scholarships & funding

  • VIA states that it does not provide financial support to tuition-paying international students from outside the EU/EEA.
  • Do not treat the Danish SU scheme as automatic funding for a new non-EU applicant.
  • Plan to fund the tuition and living budget independently unless another award is confirmed.
