Admission planning

A little clarity.
A better next step.

Admission planning

Academic eligibility

  • A recognised university-level bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a closely related field is required.
  • Relevant preparation includes mathematics, core computer science, architecture or networks, and programming.
  • The university assesses subject alignment, grades and the application; eligible applicants are ranked rather than admitted automatically.
  • No entrance examination is listed for this programme.

Admission planning

Language requirements

  • IELTS Academic requires 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0.
  • PTE Academic requires 68 overall and at least 61 in writing.
  • Approved TOEFL, Cambridge and documented degree-based routes also exist.
  • Eligible prior English-taught degrees from India can qualify only when the teaching, assessment and documentary conditions are satisfied.

Admission planning

Study intakes

  • The international master's intake starts in late August 2027.
  • The programme takes two years; the selected track determines the campus and degree title.

Admission planning

Application deadlines

  • Apply from 7 January 2027 at 08:00 until 21 January 2027 at 15:00 Helsinki time.
  • Check the application's supporting-document timetable separately.
  • The offer letter sets the deadline for accepting the place and qualifying for an early-commitment discount.

Admission planning

International tuition

  • For 2027, Information Technology tuition is EUR 12,000 per year for fee-liable non-EU/EEA students, before any qualifying reduction.
  • This is an annual charge, not the whole two-year price.
  • Living costs and any national application charge are separate.

Admission planning

Scholarships & funding

  • For students admitted in 2026 or later, the early-commitment offer reduces first-year tuition by EUR 4,000 if acceptance and payment meet the offer's deadline.
  • The stated second-year reduction is also EUR 4,000, without a separate application.
  • Confirm the applicable award in writing; older 80% or 100% scholarship descriptions apply to earlier cohorts, not this intake.
