In direct certificate-based selection, applicants need an upper/higher-secondary, high-school or vocational qualification giving access to higher education, with numerically assessed grades and at least 60% overall GPA. Supply the grading scale and final certificate or permitted pending-graduation evidence. Higher-education degrees do not replace the required certificate for this selection method. All direct certificate-route applicants must provide accepted English evidence. Options include IELTS Academic 6.0 overall or PTE Academic 55. Approved prior-education routes have documentation and country conditions; English-medium schooling alone is not an unrestricted waiver.

For bachelor's starts after 1 January 2027, standard tuition is EUR 9,700 per academic year. The direct-application first-year price is EUR 7,760, payable within 14 days of admission; subsequent years use the standard annual rate. These amounts exclude accommodation and other living or study costs. Fees are not a university-wide average. Confirm the exact course, fee year, currency, deposit, extra charges and refund conditions before paying.

Direct certificate applications open on 1 October 2026 at 09:00 Finnish time and close when the programme fills, or 31 July 2027 at the latest. Applications are processed in order of arrival; all required attachments must be uploaded before submission. This direct-application round is for studies beginning in autumn 2027 at Kuopio.
