Complete an accepted 12-year school curriculum or listed equivalent by 30 September 2027. Submit the STEM subjects required for one accepted test or qualification system, such as SAT, ACT, AP, EJU, IB or A-level. Selection combines documents with an online written examination and interview. Health Sciences and Pharmacy are not available through this route. IELTS Academic 6.0 or DET 110 are accepted options. The guide lists TOEFL iBT 80 on the earlier scale / 4.0 on the revised scale. Scores must be dated from 1 October 2025 to the application deadline. A qualifying three-year English-medium education history requires Tohoku's prescribed certificate; IELTS One Skill Retake is not accepted.

The 2027 guide's planned international tuition is JPY 900,000 per year, or JPY 450,000 per semester, plus JPY 282,000 admission. The international category means students holding Student residence status. These amounts are subject to revision, not the lower domestic tariff. Examination costs JPY 17,000; living costs are additional. Fees are not a university-wide average. Confirm the exact course, fee year, currency, deposit, extra charges and refund conditions before paying.

Submit and pay from 15 December 2026 at 12 noon to 14 January 2027 at 12 noon JST. Second-stage online screening is scheduled for 21–22 February 2027; results on 24 March. Enrolment procedures close 23 April 2027 at 10:00 JST. October 2027 is the international Fall entry. The separate April route has different screening arrangements. Apply for only one term in this admissions cycle; the former FGL undergraduate route has closed. A semester start date is not an application closing date.
