Massey University

Selected programme options include Master of Information Sciences — 180 credits, normally 18 months full-time at Auckland. These are selected examples, not the full catalogue. Availability, campus, mode of study and teaching language must be checked for your intake.

Normally an Information Sciences bachelor's equivalent with B− performance in final-year major subjects. Another bachelor's route requires that academic standard plus two years of relevant professional experience, a portfolio and possibly an interview. A qualifying postgraduate background can support advanced thesis entry; Massey assesses overseas equivalence individually. The postgraduate baseline is IELTS Academic 6.5 overall, every band at least 6.0. Alternatives include PTE Academic 58 with communicative skills at least 50, or DET 120 with every band at least 105. For TOEFL tests taken from 21 January 2026, the published requirement is 4.5 overall and 4.0 in writing. Confirm current test and offer conditions.

The 2027 international estimate is NZD 47,490 for 120 credits, including GST. It is not the complete 180-credit degree price. The separately published on-campus Student Services Fee is NZD 1,236 per 120-credit full-time load; course choices, later-year rates and other costs affect the final amount. Fees are not a university-wide average. Confirm the exact course, fee year, currency, deposit, extra charges and refund conditions before paying.

For standard qualifications, new international applicants' 2027 due dates are 31 October 2026 for Semester One and 1 May 2027 for Semester Two. Later applications may be considered if places remain. These are the university's planning due dates, not a promise of admission or a replacement for programme and visa timing. Massey's 2027 university teaching dates are 22 February and 12 July. Confirm the master's available start and course sequence for your intended semester: a general teaching date does not establish every subject's availability. A semester start date is not an application closing date. Check scholarship and visa timelines separately.
