General planning

A little clarity.
A better next step.

General planning

Academic preparation

  • For undergraduate study, prepare your school qualifications and subject results; for postgraduate study, prepare your degree and transcripts.
  • Compare the chosen course's subject prerequisites, grade requirements and any experience, portfolio or interview conditions.

General planning

Language preparation

  • Identify the language of teaching before choosing a test or preparation course.
  • Check accepted tests, minimum scores, score validity and any waiver conditions for the specific programme.

General planning

Intake & application plan

  • Choose your preferred study year and start term, then work backwards through application and document deadlines.
  • Keep admission, scholarship, deposit and immigration dates separate; a course start month is not an application deadline.

General planning

Your complete study budget

  • Compare tuition by currency, fee year and charging period; a per-credit or per-semester figure is not a full-degree price.
  • Allow for accommodation, daily living, insurance, travel, deposits, study materials and application or immigration charges.

General planning

Scholarships & finance

  • Explore institution, programme, government and external funding that matches your applicant profile.
  • Check award eligibility, deadlines, coverage and renewal conditions; neither a scholarship nor a loan is guaranteed.

General planning

Documents to prepare

  • Start with transcripts and qualification certificates, then add a CV, statement, references or portfolio where requested.
  • Check identity documents, translations, certification and financial evidence required for your chosen application route.

Norway is especially relevant for applicants comparing research, environmental and technical study in a Nordic setting. Most bachelor's degrees require Norwegian, while English master's choices have specific subject-depth requirements. Non-EU students should not rely on old claims of universally free tuition.

Subjects to explore across Norway

  • Engineering
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Computer Science
  • Business Development
  • Social Innovation

Destination-wide subjects, not a confirmed programme list for University of South-Eastern Norway.

The information below describes Norway. It is not a statement of this institution’s entry requirements, fees or available intakes.

Academic pathways
  • Undergraduate: satisfy the country-specific GSU entrance qualification plus language and subjects.
  • Postgraduate: a recognised relevant bachelor's comparable to 180 ECTS, sufficient related subject depth and any minimum grades/English proof.
Teaching language
  • Most bachelor's degrees are Norwegian-taught; selected English bachelor's and many master's options exist.
  • Apply through the route specified for the programme's teaching language.
Intake planning
  • August is the main degree start.
  • Non-EU application deadlines can fall in the preceding autumn/winter, considerably earlier than the teaching start; verify the institution's current call.
Tuition context
  • Non-EU/EEA/Swiss degree students normally pay programme-specific tuition unless exempt.
  • A clearly dated example is VID's English Community Development and Social Innovation master's listing NOK 65,920 per semester for non-EU students in 2025; request the next intake's current quote.
